Director Tim Burton has given his reason for finally making Beetlejuice 2, which makes the biggest character death theory far more credible. Arriving 36 years after the original movie, Beetlejuice 2’s story and characters pick up over three decades after the living Deetzes and recently deceased Maitlands battled the titular poltergeist. Beetlejuice 2 brings back original actors Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara in addition to filmmaker Tim Burton, with the upcoming horror-comedy marking his first sequel since 1992’s Batman Returns.
