An amateur Call of Duty LAN tournament was held in secret despite having been "cancelled" due to health and safety concerns. The COVID-19 Pandemic has put a stop to a large number of in-person events in and out of the world of gaming. However, some gamers put their desire to go pro over the health and safety of others. The Indianapolis Open was an amateur Call of Duty: Modern Warfare tournament slated to take place in person on August 1. In the late afternoon of July 31, the event was cancelled due to a discussion between representatives from the event and from Activision.
